He'd been stuck in the house all day and figured it was time to get out and stretch his feet. Maybe not a smart thing to do but right now it was the ONLY thing he had to do.
Getting up off his couch, he grabbed his jacket top before leaving the house.

From force of habit he let his fingers trail across benches or touch the occasional fencing, catching brief glimpses of activities the objects had witnessed, locking it all away in his mind for permanent residency. His thoughts were always in motion, analysing, creating. With so much to remember and nothing to forget, it was easy to daydream.

So much in fact to not notice when a couple of vampires decided he looked like the next meal. He was no whizz when it came to brutality or fighting but he wasn't exactly inept. He managed a few good punches and had to stick to defense when they started getting serious instead of playful.

"Yeah...seems about right....at the thing." Last time Hannibal had seen Alan was at the funeral. After that his world pretty much became a mess. Just a blur of bars and empty whiskey bottles. They had been good friends and King just walked away like he had with everything in his life.

The got to their destination and King pulled the door open, smiling at Abigail.

"Ladies first."

Alan kept things to himself for the rest of the journey. The topic they were getting to was sensitive to say the very least.
King let Abigail enter first and it was a shocking turn from what Alan had seen.

King was almost okay again. Almost. The downside to anything telepathic related is that sometimes...stuff comes to you, even when you don't want it to and plenty of bars had given me glimpses of King from just a simple hand on the counter. King would forget those moments in time, he would allow anything bad to reside in long memory like everyone else, covering them in good memories. With me, all memories stayed and it was times at their worst which made me envy the ability to forget and move on.

Alan stepped inside and smiled a bit as he recalled a bar-fight between him and King against three nutcases who couldn't take losing very well in a game of pool.

"Good times...", he said to himself, "where we sitting?", he asked his companions.

The smells assualted her and she grinned. Sometimes she forgot herself, but now that she could actually enjoy the smells and the tastes of food completely again she found herself indulging quite frequently.

"I don't care where we sit. I'll be right back, gonna go to the restroom."

she kissed Hannibals cheek and then walked off to the bathroom.

Hannibal watched her go and smirked.

"How about those beers?"

He felt a little awkward around Alan. King had just...well disappeared...fell into a bottle of whiskey and left everyone behind. Kinda forgot that he had friends.

"You know...I...well...it's been hard." He looked at Alan. "Didn't mean to just...vanish." King smirked at him and looked at the man in the trucker hat and flannel shirt with a beer belly so big he looked like he was gonna give birth to tripletts. "How many babies do you think that guy is having?"

"Forget about it. I've been occupied anyway"

He looked over at the huge man and smiled.

"You need psychic help to answer THAT question?"

Alan looked down at the table where he had an expensive mobile phone sat next to his last glass of beer and smiled.

"Want to see a new trick?", he asked King.

Alan looked from King back to the table and focused. Almost able to see the world in data format he found the right coding in his head and projected it. That was the best way to describe it. Suddenly the man's phone starting playing a jingle and he answered it to find nobody on the other end of the line.

"Yeah I know, I'm still a child, so sue me"

She walke dout and found them. Walking over to the table she sat down next to Hannibal and smiled, looking over the little plastic menu she rest her hand on his leg under the table, being more comfortable with him now and more sure of herself.

"I need some coffee, I'm freezing."

Already she'd decided on one or two things she wanted to eat.

"How the hell did you do that?"

Hannibal grinned at Alan. He knew he was ...different...but not that different.

A waitress named Betty approached their table next to the pool table.

"What can I getcha'?"

"Two beers, coffee, chili chees fries...I'll have a cheeseburger....Al what do you want?"

"Make that 2 cheeseburgers please"

"Coming right up"

Alan forgot that King didn't know everything about him. It was no secret to King that he was psychic of some sorts for lack of a better word but he'd never really explained everything.

"It's complicated", he turned to Abby, "it's good you're with King. He'll keep you safe. Saved me a few times..."

She smiled, if he knew the truth Abigail had saved Hannibal a little. But he did so much more, he gave her her life back.

"But who will keep him safe from me?"

Winking she nudged Hannibal's side. So she'd picked up a little of his joking attitude.
